Katrina & Harrison Jerilong Baptism - Parkland August 21, 2016

Dear family and friends, 

I am sorry for not writing last week, but for any of you that have served a mission, you know some weeks things are tough and you run out of time on P-Day. This week has been much better.  We were able to see the hand of God in our work and we have a very big teaching pool. I will be taking care of that teaching pool with my new companion Elder Williams. I love this young missionary and am so excited to serve with him. Elder Larson (my favorite companion) trained him. 

We had two baptisms this week and I am very grateful for God giving them to us. They were interviewed and we had a beautiful baptism for the mother and son and the dad should be baptized soon. 

Transfers happened this week and they are taking one group of elders out of my district and putting sisters in, so that means no car for us.  We still don’t have bike seats and I am running every morning so my legs are getting pretty swole.  (Gotta love Harrison’s descriptions)

I have been studying a talk by Neil A Maxwell called Swallowed up in the Will of the Father.  He talked about the many different types of missionaries. There are honorable missionaries, which are good hard working missionaries who do what they are told and follow the rules and are remembered. But I want to come home not as an honorable fulltime missionary but as a Valiant full time missionary, one who has put away his sins of omission and focused on leaving people with impacted hearts, not just " Oh, Elder Chacon, I liked him or he was funny”.  I want to be remembered by how I served.  I want to give it my absolute ALL.  I want to have the spirit with my always so I can leave others with my witness that God lives and that Jesus Christ is our Savior.

I love the work, I love the people, and I love you.

The Chang family brought Harrison's first journal to us in Newport Beach.  Super nice family!

Low on meds

this week was a long week. Nothing crazy nor exciting happend really, just one of the sisters backed her car up into another car so we are down one more.....:( so yaaa fun stuff. Im way excited to be an uncle, but sad i wont be there



8-1-2016:  I just got off the phone with Charlie, who was online with Harrison and he said that he has been out of his medication for several days.  I just got off the phone with Kaiser and his prescription is ready for pick up!  I will be getting a package out to him today!
