Unfamiliar Hands Poem 1-9-2016

Unfamiliar Hands

I took my last breath.
My life was over.
Eyes slowly opened, I was done.
I felt footsteps
Coming closer in rhythm.
Seeing, but blind
I reached out my hands,
Feeling for forgiveness
I shook for something
one staggering foot and then another.
I felt the cheeks of a man
Slow, whimpering lips pleaded… please, please, please
Unfamiliar hands lifted my own
He said come follow me
I’ve heard that before.

Laid out before me, I saw my own life.
I looked away in pain.
 Bitter agony encircled my soul.
Why did you leave me?  His eyes met mine.
Only tears for my answer, my heart tearing inside.
I gave you MY hands to bare you up.
You push them away, claiming it’s not enough.
You knew in your heart that it was,
And that it won’t hurt ME, but it does.
I forgave you, over and over and over again.
I gave you my life, so that you could mend.

But I am not finished.
To help you rise from your lows,
I felt the UNFAMILIAR HANDS.  I remembered the holes.
Why for me?  Why for me?
I have pushed you away.
I have hated who you are, but you love me the same?
I have forgotten who you are and I forgot your hands.
I have blamed you for everything and walked on you like sand.
WHY?
I have been thorns that drove deep in your head.
I have been the slashes in your back as you bleed.
I have been the nails that pierced your palms.
I have been the soldier to watch you break down and fall.
I’ve been the spit that’s been cast on your face.
I am the dust that’s created for waste.
But, you bore me up, why?

Because my son, you have had thorns placed on your head.
You have had slashes, and lied there and bled.
You have had nails pearce you to the wall.
You have had people mock you until you fall.
You have had people spit in your face.
And you are never the dust, you are never a waste
and I will always be here to bare you up.

I will always be here to help you stand,

Even if you only feel UNFAMILIAR HANDS.

Finally got a good letter from Elder Chacon and it sure makes me happy, knowing he is happy too!   Thanks for your love an support.

Dear Family and friends,                                                 1-26-2016

I was transferred and I love my new area and my companion  He is like my best friend. Elder Larson lives in Rancho Cucamonga, he loves to wake board and go to Glamis, and a ton of other stuff that i like to do as well. He is very obedient and that is why we are seeing daily miracles. We have invited 260 people to be baptized last week and talked to 240 people on the streets. We have a goal of talking to 500 people and inviting 500 to be baptized. We have two people on date for this Sunday and have 6 investigators who are coming to that and we will put them on date to be baptized there. We have been seeing blessing after blessing and I love who I am becoming. I am in the process of memorizing close to 100 scriptures and am doing good with that... it’s really fun. We are pushing ourselves really hard and are staying out the latest we are allowed (9:00pm) to talk to people and are teaching people on our p-day. It’s nice to have a companion that i can trust and I don’t feel like I’m out here doing the work by myself. We have seen Gods hand in every aspect of our lives. Things have just fallen into place, things have been said in lessons that were perfect that we as humans could not have know about some ones situation. I am doing awesome and wish I had more time but back to the grind..... Preach repentance and baptize.

Love Elder Chacon

Looking good! - I received a text from a fellow member in WA.

This picture brightened my day, since Harrison had been telling me how sick he was.  She said they were super polite and kind and she gave them $20 each so they could fill their tummies!  This made me so happy and I thought Harrison looked great!  I was greatful for random acts of kindess.  (Port Ludlow, WA0

Happy New Years 2016- Harrison is Sick

I have tonsillitis, bronchitis, two ear aches, a constant head ache, and my stomach issues have been as bad as they have ever been. It got down to 18 degrees yesterday its dark and depressing, my comp is very ignorant and does not have a drive to do anything or learn anything so i am doing this on my own. So you may read this and wonder why i just told you all these sad things, but it is because i can feel your prayers. My sicknesses have chilled out, and even though its cold and dark im happy, and I am able to look at my companionship as a learning experience for the feature. A mission is hard, but anytime i have something bad happen to me i think "hes been through it to" and when it hurts to walk because of blisters i think "he walk with a cross, and a crown, and lashings" and somehow my feet don't hurt anymore.
Because of being sick i stayed in a day and i was able to come up with this sheet that i call "the hit list". It is pretty much our ward list divided up by area and put into order based on an address. There is a huge push for member missionary work, so we will be doing a 15 minute lesson on how to be a missionary with each person we see. By getting people pumped to share the gospel we will see Gods hand in all things and we will baptize in this desolate area. Im going to through a solid to the missionaries back home so who ever wants to tell them that a good way to get the ward pumped is my getting a list of who served missions in the ward and going and talking to them about it. This causes them to reminisce and get excited  about being a missionary and this flows into the rest of the ward. Next Hit up the wives of the Bishop, elders corm president, and all other callings like that. They have a huge influence on a ton of people and at least in my parents case my mother is way more chatty than my dad. I am sure the missionaries work hard, and they might have already done this but i just want to help in anyway.
We are in the last days. In D&C 88:81 it says "It becometh every man who hath been warned to warn his neighbor." Please guys dont be afraid to talk about this gospel... Romans 1:16 (haha shout out to seminary)...  so that is enough with preachy stuff.
The cool stuff of the week..... On the 30th we had a zone conference  (a meeting with 30ish missionaries) and after one of the breaks they called me up with others to sing happy birthday..... I had forgotten it was my birthday up until that point haha That night some of our really good member friends took us out to dinner and ice cream. A few days prior to that i went on exchanges with the port townsen elders so i went up to them and one of them came down with my companion for the day. We had an awesome dinner with the Myer family..... After the dinner elder bell told me that i just had dinner with the author of twilight so that was pretty cool haha, o and lastly the pizza that you sent was frozen when i got home haha but after a few minutes in the microwave it was good.
So ya in two weeks i will have been out 1/4 of my mission.... weird.
I love all you guys:) haha keep prayen
